Es Cala Blanca, Menorca
Straight off the plane, in the queue for the car rental desk, Rob turned to me and said, ‘Find me a beach.’ It was 10am, we had just landed in Menorca and we couldn’t check into the hotel until mid-afternoon anyway. I pulled out my phone and quickly located a little cove that was apparently the perfect little hidden spot, away from tourists. Es Cala Blanca was just what we were looking for. We got changed out of our plane clothes in the car park, jumped in the car and 15 minutes later we were standing on a rock gazing out at the most perfect turquoise sea.

Es Cala Blanca, Menorca
Despite my sprained ankle, we climbed over to a flat rock tucked into the cliff on the far side of the cove and settled in. We were surrounded by maybe ten other couples and families, quietly enjoying their day in their little nooks in the rocks. Every now and then when it got too hot, someone would stand up and dive off the rocks into the water. At one point. a little boat even floated in and dropped anchor so its passengers had a quick diving session. Total heaven. It seemed to be a great place for snorkelling too, as many people of all ages were swimming around with a their goggles on checking out what lay beneath.
 Es Cala Blanca, Menorca
Es Cala Blanca was an excellent welcome to the island. I mean, just LOOK at that water.

Fancy heading there yourself? I’d recommend you stay the day but bring your own food and drink, as there are no services there at all. Or shade for that matter, so be ready for some sun. We only stayed for a couple of hours before heading to lunch at a restaurant nearby: El Pescadito de Binibeca in Binibeca Vell.

P.S. There are NO filters on these photos. Menorca is just that beautiful.

Hello, I’m Stefanie! I’m here to inspire you to create the life you want to live. This site is my way of sharing my life with you and sprinkling a little inspiration along the way. I live on the beautiful island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands with my fiancé, Rob, a South African who often begrudgingly makes appearances on the blog. Travel is a huge part of our lives – we love exploring the world, trying new foods and seeing new places. You’ll find a lot of that here on the blog, as well as a lot of what’s on my mind and how I’m feeling.
