A couple of weeks ago I was invited to go along to a World Record attempt for the largest HIIT workout hosted by Glow. I was intrigued, so headed down to Dulwich, where I was met by Jenny Ingleton, a well-known fitness instructor in South East London. The idea was that in order to launch Glow, a new nationwide fitness concept, every instructor would hold a short HIIT workout simultaneously across the country.
Jenny is a huge, bubbly personality who instantly claimed that she was my new best friend and welcomed me literally with open arms. She told me that her event was also raising money from cake sales, face painting, massages and hair braiding to buy for a duet bike wheelchair for a a very special little boy. The group, people of all ages, shapes and sizes, got together for a rehearsal and then for actual event at 7pm. It was good fun. It had an amazing community feel, often missed outside of London and which aligns perfectly for Glow’s tagline: Food, Friends & Fitness.
I caught up with Jenny afterwards to find out how it went for her.
Hi Jenny! How do you think it went?
I think it went better than I could have expected. I was running on adrenaline, just knowing that 34 other Glow coaches were working in unison with me all over the UK. 67 participants glowing in their orange T shirts was a beautiful sight for sure!
How much money was raised on the night?
We raised a total of £470.00 towards purchasing Godsend’s Tandem Bike. We fully intend to carry on our fundraising until such a time as we’re able to raise the full amount (£2500 approx.) I’m already planning my next fundraising event linking with the Wheels for Wellbeing, a South London charity running regular cycling sessions for people of all ages with disabilities and health conditions. The advantage of this is getting Godsend up and riding whilst we continue fundraising – and keeping myself and my Glow members healthy and fit!
Why did you choose to work for Glow?
I chose to go with Glow when, following the end of my contract with Rosemary Conley Diet & Fitness club I decided to trade independently on my own. Although I had my loyal members, there were no new members coming through my door, as I lacked the appropriate experience to continue growing my business. Going with Glow gives my business a new boost. Glow sums up exactly who we are: Fitness, Food & Friends. We’re not just a slimming club. Glow will teach me how to be more modern and fresh with my marketing.
Any other remarks?
I liked that you felt the energy and community spirit of the club – that’s exactly what I am striving to sustaining. This is a fickle industry but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. Glow has arrived in SE London, and you are welcome to my classes anytime!

Congrats to all who now hold a world record!
