Trend SS09: Jump for joy!

There is a trend that has been slowly climbing higher on the fashion radar over the past couple of seasons; the jumpsuit. At first, not many embraced it, but now every designer seems to have their own version and you don’t have to feel like a wannabe-plumber! Here’s a rundown of a few of the favourites that caught my eye:

My favourite so far, Chloe gives the look a bit of class, perfect for hitting the bars of St Tropez…!

Sophia Kokosalaki makes it look cool and effortless in a very wearable black tank-top version.

Check out Marc Jacobs’ sporty version for the ultimate in gym chic!

In a continuation of AW’s favourite colour, grey, Giorgio Armani created a version for the more sophisticated ladies amongst us!

Betty Jackson kept it simple, but added this season’s favourite new 80s detail – the big shoulders!

Stella McCartney’s business suit version on this season’s nude is bang on trend and such an interesting take on the trend!

Trend SS09: Let’s get NUDE!

Sunday night’s Golden Globes were awash, so to speak, with washed-out, pale colours. Many could view this as plain and dull, in light of the current economic recession, but I believe that these pale creams, nudes and golds display some form of purity and a freshness that can only be related to the changing of the seasons and the welcoming of Spring. AW08 was all about gothic, black tones and as we move into the warmer seasons, it only makes sense that our wardrobe should lighten up as well. Alongside, the bright block colours also making a comeback this season, these neutral tones appeal to the natural, Earth mother in all of us. White may connote innocence, but nude is not that strong. It has a warmth that is still light and easy to wear, especially as you can interpret the trend in many different ways, meaning you can always find a shade for your skin tone. Just look at these fabulous pictures for inspiration!

Trend SS09: Oversized Earrings!

Love them or hate them, oversized earrings are back with a bang! Expect stretched earlobes and crazy designs hanging off the sides of heads at parties for the foreseeable future! Is this a bad thing? I don’t think so. I personally am a massive fan of earrings. In fact, I don’t really do small, dainty jewellery. It’s just not me! I like BIG necklaces and statement jewellery so I personally am excited about this trend! Whatever your feelings, they’re here to stay- just check out Kate Beckinsale’s impressive pair from last night’s Golden Globe awards!
