There is a trend that has been slowly climbing higher on the fashion radar over the past couple of seasons; the jumpsuit. At first, not many embraced it, but now every designer seems to have their own version and you don’t have to feel like a wannabe-plumber! Sunday night’s Golden Globes were awash, so to speak, with washed-out, pale colours. Many could view this as plain and dull, in light of the current economic recession, but I believe that these pale creams, nudes and golds display some form of purity and a freshness that can only be related to the changing of the seasons and the welcoming of Spring. AW08 was all about gothic, black tones and as we move into the warmer seasons, it only makes sense that our wardrobe should lighten up as well. Alongside, the bright block colours also making a comeback this season, these neutral tones appeal to the natural, Earth mother in all of us. White may connote innocence, but nude is not that strong. It has a warmth that is still light and easy to wear, especially as you can interpret the trend in many different ways, meaning you can always find a shade for your skin tone.
