This is the woman who brought us SATC, Ugly Betty and so much more. What is going on?!
There used to be two types of women in this world: ones that wore pearls and ones that did not. However, the straight-laced country mansion types are no longer the only women to adorn themselves with such jewellery. In ‘Sex and the City: The Movie”, Carrie Bradshaw is wearing a strand of Mikimoto pearls whilst announcing her engagement to Big and is seen twirling the same set whilst sitting at her computer later in the film. This necklace (32inch, 8.5mm Akoya cultured pearl necklace) retails at £6,760. It is available to buy in Mikimoto stores and at various retailers worldwide.
SJP has also been seen wearing the pearls off set. So, it would seem that they are very popular amongst all types of women and not just those who play polo.
I read recently on the Grazia website that Patricia Field recently stated that she would love to style Susan Boyle for the stage. She was quoted as saying that all she needed was a long skirt, a corset and a wig! Hmm… can we all say ‘drag queen’???
This may be what Patricia Field has to do given her recent argument with SJP over the SATC sequel. New mum Sarah Jessica Parker has decided that Carrie and Big would have been affected by the recession and that Miss Bradshaw (Or Mrs Big…) will now be more recessionista than fashionista, but Field has refused to do this claiming that Sex and the City is about escapism and high fashion. Watch this space…
Could it get any better? Will they ruin the magic? What will happen to Carrie and Big? How about Samantha’s LA weight? And Charlotte’s growing brood? We don’t know the answers to these questions but there is one thing that we can count on: The fashion will be FABULOUS!!
So, quite frankly, I can’t wait!
