Busy Weekend

It’s Sunday night and I’m sitting down with a mug of green tea (and a smidgen of dark Green&Black’s) after a whirlwind weekend. On Friday I was all packed to head north to see my Mum and brother for the weekend when I got an invitation to go to the Felder Felder show at London Fashion Week. There was no way that I was going to miss something like that, so I cancelled my train ticket and high-tailed it to Somerset House to see the extravaganza for myself. You can read my review here. It was amazing and worth every second. I then spent the rest of my evening NOT at the glamorous after party (despite being invited) but instead at home under a mountain of laundry and housework with My Best Friend’s Wedding on in the background, all so that I wouldn’t have to rush home on Sunday to do it.

The next day, we headed to Lincoln to meet up with my Mum, our friends Dave and Roxi and their gorgeous little ones Scarlett and Noah for a day of lunch and shopping (the girls+ 3 month old Noah) and burgers, beer and football (the boys). It seems like every weekend the sun comes out and brings us a little touch of summer just when we think winter is setting in. Although in preparation for the colder months, I did buy some fabulous studded ankle boots and a super soft burgundy cable knit jumper. In the evening, we headed home for wine, cheese and Scrabble (my mother won… good work, not bitter…) before heading to bed.

On Sunday morning, Mark announced that he was going to make one of his fabulous Sunday roasts with beef, yorkshire puddings and red wine gravy much to the delight of the rest of us. I spent most of the day clearing and out and packing up my room to bring another suitcase to London. I’m sooo close now – just one more trip and I’ll be all here! We then jumped on the train home to London where I unpacked, ate some leftover salami and cheese and crashed on the sofa with a green tea and the Kardashians. The perfect ending to a great weekend.
