When invited last minute to a major fashion show, you just go, no questions asked. That’s why when I was invited to Felder Felder last night, I quickly cancelled all plans that I had and headed straight to Somerset House to check out what the designer twins had to offer for next season.
Upon arrival I was greeted with a creamy Bailey’s cocktail and a crowd of people eager to get seated. Anticipation built further as the front row filled up with the likes of Lady Victoria Hervey, Jameela Jamil and Poppy Delevigne. Italian Nancy Dell’Olio created quite the paparazzi stir right in the middle of the catwalk. Lights dimmed and Kate Nash opened the show wearing a fabulous black Felder Felder creation. The collection was beautiful, with butterfly-wing inspired soft textures in soft pastel colours alongside pretty blue print tea dresses, as well as long soft evening dresses with low waisted tailoring, low backs and split to the thigh. Perfect for post beach cocktail parties on a warm summer’s evening.
All of the pieces were eminently wearable. This simple springtime suit in a soft suede with tailored cigarette pants is an ideal office to bar city outfit. A real stand out basic for next season. Another clever piece in association with Baileys was this fun bag (below with the girls) which is likely to be a favourite amongst the festival crowd next season. The show ended to rapturous applause and hooting from celebrities and fashion folk alight. A real Triumph, which is fitting as that is where the fabulous underwear was from. When all was done, I popped backstage for a couple of pictures before heading home with my Kate Nash CD and a fabulous idea for a Bailey’s cocktail. Scrumptious.
