Summer Fashion at Tesco!

I was just watching TV with my mum and found myself quite excited by the F&F at Tesco advert. As the models strutted down the countryside catwalk, I was saying “Ooh, denim shorts – I’ve been looking for some of those for summer!” and “That dress looks a lot like Alexa Chung’s Luella heart dress!”, which to me meant ‘Brilliant – affordable summer wardrobe!”.

I don’t believe that supermarket clothing lines should really be overlooked. They have a big budget behind them, meaning that they can be made cheaply but still of good quality. George @ Asda (owned by US giant Walmart) has always been brilliant for budget fashionistas (not to mention very handy to grab whilst nipping out for milk!), yet Tesco seems to be stepping up in the style stakes. They are even launching F&F Couture, priced between £40 and £140 which marks a change in supermarket fashion. It will launch exclusively online on March 29th 2010.
What do you think about supermarket fashion? Are you a fan? Or do you prefer the real couture?!

  1. It is really good isn't it? I actually think that I'd rather buy from Tesco than Primark – something better about the quality?Still waiting for the shorts and dress to appear online though! Maybe it will drop with the couture line next week?!

  2. It has become a cliche to say "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery", and in this case that flattery is earned. Those are lovely dresses. Great memory you displayed and excellent job matching up the photographs showing that the Luella SS10 and Alexa Chung dresses were virtually identical. The summer fashions are nice!

  3. Alexa is wearing the Luella dress in this photo – I couldn't find the Tesco dress online at the time of publishing. And Lauren, do you shop in places like Walmart for clothes or are they not well liked in the States? I've seen Walmart a few times on ANTM with the Covergirl shots, but is that just marketing? x
