International Day of Swishing!

Are you looking for a fab way to clear out your wardrobe, get rid of unwanted Christmas presents AND get a few new items for this season WITHOUT spending a penny? Well tomorrow (9th Jan) has been declared International Day of Swishing (or clothes swapping) and posh-swaps.com are holding a online swapping party that we are ALL invited to! Clothes swapping is not just great fun (and free) but it is also eco-friendly!

Founder Ceri Heathcote says, “As a fashion obsessed blogger (I blog for Style Eyes Fashion Blog), I founded Posh-swaps.com in April 09 to give people a place to swap, buy and sell their second hand clothes for free. I find myself constantly wanting new clothes but recognise that buying new all the time is not good for the environment or my bank balance. I aim to use the site promote sustainable style and eco fashion.

Ceri has also given me a fabulous guide on what you need to do, should you wish to take part in this fab online event. There are also a few tips if you are also a blogger of how you can promote your site with them too:

a) Register with posh-swaps.com
b) Take photos of your items and then list them on or before 9th January
c) If you would like to be featured in our
blogger swapper feature, send us links to your items and you blog url before 9th Jan.
d) Browse and propose swaps on items you like, or wait for others to propose swaps with you.
e) If you would like to be featured in our swap style feature send up pictures of your outfits made from swapped clothes by 22nd Jan.

It all sounds like a fab idea to me, especially as it helps the environment AND the back balance! I’m off to see if I have anything in my wardrobe worth swapping after my recent clearout (Shame I didn’t know about this sooner!) If I do, I’ll blog about them over the weekend.

If you have any further questions about the swap, then email Ceri at ceri@heathcotecommunications.co.uk
